Using data compiled by the federal government’s Bureau of Labor Statistics, the True Rate of Unemployment tracks the percentage of the U.S. labor force that does not have a full-time job (35+ hours a week) but wants one, has no job, or does not earn a living wage, conservatively pegged at $26,000 (in 2025 dollars) annually before taxes. 真实失业率采用美国劳工统计局数据，追踪以下三类人群占劳动力比例：希望获得但未拥有全职工作（每周35小时以上）、完全失业者、以及税前年收入低于保守设定生活工资26,000美元（按2025年美元计）的就业者。
Just as an accurate census is a prerequisite to funding American communities equitably, policymakers depend on economic indicators to shape economic policy.
