To explain further what this video shows: this is the results of the solar system being simulated with Newtonian, point-mass gravity from 1st January 1950 to 12th August 2026. As you can see, the eclipse is (mostly) correctly predicted after more than 76 years of simulation, starting only from the bodies’ state vectors and gravitational parameters. 为了进一步解释这段视频展示的内容:这是太阳系在牛顿点质量引力下从 1950 年 1 月 1 日到 2026 年 8 月 12 日的模拟结果。正如你所见,在仅从各天体的状态向量和引力参数出发、模拟超过 76 年之后,这次日食被(基本上)正确预测了。

I’ve shared this project here before, but to reiterate: Ephemeris Explorer lets you build solar systems (or any gravitationally bound system) and simulate them with Newtonian point-mass gravity.
